Half of the windows in our house are single pane and it sucks. We put new windows in the bedrooms and those rooms are much warmer. I feel your pain though because the front of our house is freezing cold during the winter.
I actually stuffed t-shirts in the crack between my window and the wall today... it's about 1/2" open, because I have a wire that leads outside... and it's right by my computer... *gah* :(
I need better windows... or at least an antenna to the TV that works...
Low-E windows are the way to go (when you decide to upgrade)! You can buy some plastic stuff to seal your windows off during the winter at any home improvement store.
And, I too, already miss the warm weather. Winter sucks!
Katie is right about the plastic. I forgot about that stuff but we bought it last year and put it on most of our windows and made a huge difference. It is really easy to install too.
